“Suddenly the back legs start to kick and her eyes open!”

(“I’ll pull the pickup over there to be closer.”)

The cages are still strapped to the rear of the motor home. It only takes about 5 minutes to assemble the cage for our first man-eater. Benga, Makali, and Benjamin join together to lift the “killer” out of the pickup and into the holding cage.

“Bwana, should we release the feet and un-tape mouth?” Benga asks.

“Yes, but not until the last second. Jacob should be here within an hour. He may want to re-sedate her for the trip home.”

“Ok, me got, Bwana,” Makali says waving Miles and Benga to step away.

Makali, kneeling next to the lioness, carefully releases the legs, and reaches for the snout. Suddenly the back legs start to kick and her eyes open. Makali jumps back.

“Get out of there!” Miles yells. “Forget the snout!”
