“Let’s not slow down and check the lion lair on the way back.”
“Good plan, Mate,” Miles agrees, as he releases his winch hook. “But, stay alert.”
Miles and Benga take the lead. Makali and I fall-in behind Benjamin as he joins the parade. We pass the waterhole, then the large clearing where we discovered the lions’ lair. About 100 yards past the clearing, Miles slows down and moves over and signals for Benjamin to take the lead. (I wondered if he knows where he’s going.) The rest of the way we don’t slow down, but we are all very alert and aware.
