“Says he’s ok and the tracks run away from the waterhole, not toward the house.”

“What’s Makali doing down by the waterhole? Is he running away?”

“Yeah, funny. No, when we took our break from the table, he said he needed to get some outside time. He’s not that comfortable being closed in by walls and windows.”

“Does he need us?” Miles asked.

“Says he’s ok and the tracks run away from the waterhole, not toward the house.”

“Well, here’s Mrs. Bridges phone number. Her first name is Linda. She and her children live in Oklahoma. Pretty sure it’s about 9:00am where she is. I’m going to start walking toward Makali, while you try to call her. I’m sure he’s alright, but I could use some outside time, too. When I get back, I’ll tell ya’ what my South African buddy told me.”

“Ok. You take a gun and radio, too.”

“Will do, Mate. Kwa heri (bye).

“Yeah, see ya’. Be careful.”
