“Yes ok, but take a rifle and a two-way radio.”

See ya’ in a few,” Miles answered standing up.

Still standing, I turn to Makali, “These calls may take an hour or so, what do you want to do?”

“If ok, me walk down to waterhole, Bwana. “

“Yes ok, but take a rifle and a two-way radio.”

“Ok, Bwana. Me go outside?” Pointing to the balcony as he stands.

“Of course. I’ll join you.”

I slid open the screen door, and we both step outside. Miles walks through the kitchen and grabs a cold bottle of water and heads upstairs.

“It’s turned out to be a beautiful day.”

“Yes, Bwana, siku nzuri (a beautiful day),” Makali said as he walked to balcony railing.
