One ring. Two rings. Three rings. Four rings. She disconnects after the fifth ring.

She opens her Skype application and looks at the clock in the corner of the computer screen.

“7:15pm Nairobi time,” she thinks to herself. “Just might catch him around his apartment. Man, I hope he’s alone.”

Closing her door, she freshens up her make-up and quickly brushes her hair. She types in Charlie’s video number, takes a deep breath, and presses ‘Enter’.

 One ring. Two rings. Three rings. Four rings. She disconnects after the fifth ring. 

 “Well, now what?” to herself. “He will eventually see an alert that I tried to call. Guess try his cell number.”

 From her purse she takes her iPhone and opens her contact app to find Charlie’s cell number. She knows his cell phone will recognize her number in caller ID.
