“Anytime a panda gives birth in captivity, it is exciting news.”

 Arriving back at her cart, she sits down and makes some quick notes on her clipboard. She turns the key, adjusts her cap, and starts up the path. The Zoo opens in 30 minutes, she needs to hurry. On her trip back to the Administration Building she has decided to stop by her other favorite area of the Zoo, Panda Canyon. The San Diego Zoo is famous for its’ conservation and research of the Asian Panda. One of her female pandas is expecting and will deliver its’ first cub within the next two weeks. Anytime a panda gives birth in captivity, it is exciting news. The smell of fresh coffee from the ‘Canyon Cafe’ is an immediate distraction. “Just a quick stop,” she thinks.

“Hello, Martha,” she calls out, stopping her cart close to the ordering window.

“Hi and good morning Dr. Henley. Do you need your usual?” asked Martha.
