“Thank you for explaining that. I feel better now,” Tom said.
“Well, we’ve got two more days. Dan do you want to try for an elephant?” Bryce asked.
“No, I don’t think so. I think I’d like to try for a zebra and maybe a bigger impala,” Dan answered.
“Ok, good plan. Bret and Dan, you ok with more plains game?” I asked.
“Yes, you bet,” they answered.
“Ok, that’s a plan,” I said.
After a couple of more songs from Miles, and a few more hunting stories from Bryce, we call it a night. As the others retire to their tents, I pick up my open-sight 375 and head down near Modjaji’s tent. I have the first watch. Bryce will relieve me about 2am.
The final two nights and days were uneventful. Our guests were able to shoot a few more plains game, including a beautiful common zebra for Dan.
It has been an adventure I know they’ll never forget. I know I never will.
